So given the fairly decent cast, you would expect a great movie, but I think the scriptwriters got fired and replaced by a bunch of school kids. And not scriptwriting school, I’m thinking more along the lines of barista school students.
The movie follows a group of 5 school kids who have been playing a game of tag for some 30 years every May, and during all of this time one of them has never managed to have been tagged. And the tradition continues, every May, every Year.
But Jerry, plays the game with style and (almost) spy level capabilities, and always is a step ahead of all of them, all of the time. But the best bits of the movie are actually from the extras and not the main players.
Ok, so this movie isn’t one that you should go out of your way to watch. There are some funny pieces to it, and some good one off comments, but really, you’d have to be high or wasted (or both) to get some significant enjoyment out of this. It even has a main character join at the start who literally has about 30-40 lines in the entire movie, I just don’t understand why she is there, it’s just hopeless.
It does however appear to be based off a true story, judging by the credit scenes, which does make it more interesting.
It’ll help you pass the time, but won’t be one that you’ll remember in years to come.
