So the world is coming to its end due to an future of apocalyptic climate disasters, so naturally the best thing we can do is build a machine to manage the climate for us (anyone thinking Highlander III at all?)
The problem is is when it does get built, the lead designer of it set it in motion before he gets the approval to do so, and it turn gets fired by the earthly beuracrats who just want to take the power away from the international aspect of it. He’s replaced by his younger brother, which splits them up.
And then shit goes wrong. (Have you ever noticed how shit always goes wrong in the movies?!?)
Anyhow, when the system gets hacked and people start dying as there is sudden ice storms in Afghanistan, sudden geothermic eruptions in Tokyo and a big freeze rolling into the beaches of Rio de Janerio, and it’s up to the brothers to save the day.
Unlike the scores provided by both IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes, I actually didn’t mind this movie. Yes it was obvious, and yes naturally it’s America to save the day, but the acting was above average (not great but above average) though emotionally it was flat for a chunk of it.
But, the story kept me watching, which is a good thing.
