The story of the heroine assassin Elektra, who lost her mother at a young age who became the master of her abilities at such a young age, but could never complete her training. But when the contract she was hired for falls through when she instead protects the very people she was meant to kill. She finds herself up against The Hand.
The battles only get weird and more violent as The Hands finest warriors come up against them, but the heroine saves the day every single time. Eventually the truth comes out about who she is guarding, and it all makes sense. Not.
The best thing about this movie is that even Ms Garner didn’t want to do this movie and thought it was terrible. She merely did it to fulfil her contractual obligations from her appearance in Daredevil (which admittedly I thought actually came after this one.
There’s some action, some mysticism and some general “sexiness” in the portrayal of Elektra. I mean those outfits aren’t designed to be frumpy, figure hugging is not just for function. But other than that, the storyline is lacking, even the character development is, well poor. Mostly because it was designed to be an existing character and note building one like they should have done it.
Just not great, and well worth Rotten Tomatoes score.
