For this weekend since I have been left at home and unsupervised, I am going through 20 MCU movies in the MCU’s chronological order, starting from Captain America: The First Avenger through to Ant-Man & The Wasp.
Admittedly I only watched this a few weeks back, but if you’re gonna watch them all, you gotta watch them all.
After Tony Starks admission of him being Iron Man, life didn’t really change to much for him. He is still the same old billionaire, playboy, philanthropist that always has been. He knows it, and so does everybody else.
But when an otherwise unknown man wearing the outfit of a pit crewman walks onto the course of the Monaco Formula One and starts to lay waste to everything with his own weaponised suit with their own version of an Arc reactor that was designed by both designers of the original (his and Tony’s fathers) Tony is his true target of his vengeance, and attacks him with electro-whips.
The other thing to contend with is that the government also wants Tony’s suit(s), and he isn’t willing to give it up without a fight. That fight happens to be a fight with his friend Rhodes at his own birthday party. But in the end he has no choice but to team up with Rhodes and Pepper in order to take down this vengeful madman bent on destroying him, and the legacy of the Starks.
This movie in comparison to the first Iron Man isn’t nearly as great as the first and it quite obviously shows, and very noticeably so. It’s like they went off book to get a storyline, and in my opinion, it just doesn’t fit to what was happening out of the first movie. That said, did I enjoy it? Yes. Yes I did. Partially again because of the exceptional assembly scenes for the suits.
If you are watching this purely by itself, prepare for disappointment. If you are bingeing through the MCU timeline like I am right now, you’re gonna enjoy it.
