Evan’s financial advisor career is spiralling out of control as he has just lost his confidence, suddenly finds the secret answer in his daughters imaginary friends. Who are remarkably good at providing financial advice.
As he follows his daughter on her hilarious adventures that are only accessible through their googa (the nickname for his daughters security blanket), he starts making huge wins for his clients. But after a while he finds that he needs to look at the relationship he has with his daughter and with his job.
When he all but gives up on his relationship with his daughter in favour of his career and this blanket. He suddenly finds himself thrown out of his friends house in the middle of the night screaming for his daughters googa.
Ummm… I don’t know what to say about this movie that is overly positive. Eddie Murphy used to be a damn funny guy, but now his movie performances are just flat as all buggery. The only good thing is that it shows the breakdowns that occur when you give your all to your job, and nothing much at all to your family.
But to be honest, if you skip this movie, I think it’s safe to say you’ll survive.
