Pete’s Dragon – 2016

IMDB: Pete’s Dragon – 2016

IMDB Rating: 6.7/10

Rotten Tomatoes: 87%

This is the remake to the classic 1977 film by the same name, begins with the accident that left Pete an orphan, and has him first discover Elliott, the loveable and highly protective dragon.

The story takes us briefly through time as Pete grows up a little through to 6 years later, where Pete gets spotted by a local logging enterprise, and their whole world gets turned upside down. First the hunting parties, and a new friend, then the police and some help, and finally the chase scene with some fire breathing thrown in for good measure.

This is a great movie (and not just because it has a dragon in it), the characters are well developed and have a great history to them, making them typically relatable, and Bryce playing the part of Grace brings some strong emotional content to the movie.

Whilst a lot re-makes are average to shit, this one ticks a lot of the boxes, if you haven’t yet seen it I recommend that you track it down to watch.
