The Road to El Dorado – 2000

IMDB: The Road to El Dorado – 2000

IMDB Rating: 6.9/10

Rotten Tomatoes: 48%

When Tulio and Miguel manage to stumble upon an old map to the fabled city of gold the legendary El Dorado when pulling a dice scam, they can’t believe their luck.

They also can’t believe their luck when the map turns out to be true and they come upon the city, and in their unusual form of foreigners they get mistaken for being the very Gods worshipped by the local natives. It all then gets a little weird when a native girl stumbles into them after stealing an artefact from the temple.

She just wants out, and quickly sees through the scam of the “Gods”, and offers her knowledge of the locals in exchange for her escape with them when the time comes.

This is a great children’s movie that has enough of a plot (and not just the ones on Chel) to satisfy most adults as well. The humour and the innuendo is plenty enough to play along with through the duration of the movie.
