Tonights episode take us on a picnic at the Centennial Park in Sydney, will pit Group 1 against themselves in a relaxing challenge to create a family orientated picnic basket.
Stella and Jazzy: Roast beef roll with devilled eggs and spiced carrot muffs.
Josh and Nic: Schnitzel focaccia with bruschetta and ganache strawberries.
Jess and Emma: Prawn rolls with potato salad and a berry cake.
Kim and Suong: Chicken bahn mi with asian beef salad and a fruit salad.
Alex and Emily: Apple and mustard honey baked ham with xxx and carrots in an orange and thyme dressing.
The judges are already concerned with the menu that the contestants are going to be putting up, especially Stella and Jazzy’s roll which they feel may just turn into meat and mush and Alex and Emilys might be a little too simple?
The group 2 rocks up and starts making the rounds, and Jess and Emma start calling Marco and Davide Yogi and Booboo. And Henry and Ally return the favour to the WA by delivering them a cheer of their own.
Then Colin starts making his rounds, and the Italians discover that all of their chicken is raw.
Stella and Jazzy are taking things along a different line by telling the world you do need to rest your meat (insert puns here) then they’re telling Colin that they’re sure that he’s eaten a muff or two in his time.
Now it’s time for the baskets to be going out and the crowds are super hungry.
Stella and Jazzy’s basket is filled with food, and the roast beef roll is just too many flavours, the devilled eggs, well are hard to get wrong, and the muffs, just don’t work, the icing is sickly sweet, and the muffs themselves, a bit doughy.
Josh and Nic’s basket takes a huge amount of time to come out, but is it worth the wait? The judges love the schnitzel focaccia, the peach gorgonzola bruschetta, again a big hit, and who doesn’t love chocolate covered strawberries.
Jess and Emma’s basket has a simple but nice prawn roll, the potato salad again is simple but nice, the cake however, simple but nice. Did they just play it safe at this point in the game?
Kim and Suong’s basket had nice tender moist chicken, the beef salad and is absolutely charged with flavour, with a light a soft fruit salad to finish it off very well.
Alex and Emily’s basket smells like Christmas, but their ham is a tad dry and needs far more glaze, the salad doesn’t even have a dressing, and crunchy and not caramelised carrots. It just let the judges down.
But when it comes to the scoring, peoples choice belongs without a doubt to Josh and Nic, but the worst one belongs quite bluntly to Alex and Emily, who will now be going to Elimination House to battle it out against Georgie and Alicia to stay in the competition.
