It is scary to think that this movie is coming into its teens. But to be fair, the original movie is in its mid-late thirties. The true original though (and absolutely the best – if you can get your hands on it, is the radio series, just listen to it, it’s hilarious, especially after it gets through the first book which is the movie – look at me just blabbing on here……) is now 40 years old.
The story follows Arthur Dent, who is desperately trying to stop his house from being bulldozed to make way for a new motorway. Little does he know that his day is going to get much, much worse. First, his house gets bulldozed, then the Earth gets destroyed, and if that wasn’t bad enough, he gets picked up by a girl he completely blew it with at a party years before.
It is a glorious comedy of errors, that in aspects of it’s nutty stupidity will have you shaking your head chuckling away to yourself.
