The first in the series of Thors, and the current era debut of him on the silver screen being portrayed by Chris Hemsworth.
While Thor is nearly being crowned “All Father” of Asgard in a ceremony, when 3 soldiers of Jotunheim sneak in and attempt to steal back the source of power for their people, only to be stopped, dead. Thor while disobeying his father heads to Jotunheim and basically tries to bully them into a war.
Brining a stop to the immediate conflict is the All Father upon his mighty steed and whisks them away back to Asgard, before given a stern talking to, to his son, before stripping him of his power and gear and banishing him to Midgard (that’s us for the less inclined to understand). There he meets and basically falls for physicist Jan Foster.
This to me is how a series of movies should be setup. Great acting, good plot, better interaction and significant character building. They have done well here, and if (by some luck of hiding under a rock for the last 7 years) you haven’t seen this, put it on your list to do so. It’s a nice one to watch on a Friday night, if you aren’t getting wasted.
