Hard o imagine that this movie started the entire franchise (of which more is coming soon) nearly quarter of a century ago.
When the Stargate is unearthed in Egypt no-one can decipher it’s sigils until one man who was laughed out of the archaeological circles for his theories, when he is suddenly thrust into the middle of an unforeseen reality that is beyond all their beliefs.
Teaming up with a secret military arm to be known as SG-1 they travel through this gate to another world altogether, and experience what has been happening in the universe, and what really happened back on Earth before we cast off the Goa’uld. The discoveries they make both archaeological and internal shape the future of earth in ways that couldn’t have imagined beforehand.
I never enjoyed Kurt in his role as Jack O’neil and am very glad that RDA took the role on, as he feels more natural in it. To be honest, I’m not sure if this is the best place to begin your journey into the world of the Stargate and SG-1, or if the pilot episode of the actual (and original) Stargate TV series is, but it should be a movie that you should see at least once.
