Assassins Creed – 2016

IMDB: Assassins Creed – 2016

IMDB Rating: 5.8/10

Rotten Tomatoes: 18%

When Callum Lynch is brought in to use some extremely revolutionary technology to unlock the memories of his past ancestor Aguilar de Nerha who lived back in the end of the dark ages, he begins to find that he is a descendant of the secret society The Assassins, and begins to pull together the pieces of information in the hunt for “Adam’s Apple (think the book of Genesis from the bible). He’ll need this information to take on the enemies of The Assassins the better known Templar organisation.

Things start to spiral out of control as he unlocks his memories and finds out that the world isn’t quite as simple as he originally thought, and those who he thought were friends may not be so.

As a standalone movie (completely ignoring the gaming franchise) this isn’t actually too bad. It has got good action scenes, the conversations are a bit flat and lacking emotion in some areas, but overall not too bad.

If however, you are a fan of the games, you’ll find plenty of glaring issues in relation to the games canonical history, but depending on how much of a true believer you are will dpeend on how annoyed you’ll get at this movie.
