Sucker Punch – 2011

IMDB: Sucker Punch – 2011

IMDB Rating: 6.1/10

Rotten Tomatoes: 23%

The first scene is a little traumatic if you aren’t expecting that level of implied emotional violence. It does set up the movie for the first break in Babydoll’s psyche.

As she retreats into her own reality (which can be a little convoluted at times) to cope with her institutionalisation by her abusive step-father, she hatches a plan to escape using the other institutionalised girls as tools (some willing-ish) to assist in her plan.

The journey to her escape take you through an avid visually enticing spectacle of locales but overall the characters are a little stereotypical and flat.
